There’s hope Barbados could have a direct air link with Africa in a matter of months.
This is among one of the main successes coming out of the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum held over the last three days at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley addressed that issue in the wrap up press conference.
She notes representatives from the Ministry of Tourism have met with officials from several African countries with a view of making the dream a reality.
Prime Minister Mottley says there will likely be a need for government support initially, but suggests it will eliminate the need for Africans to get a transit visa to visit countries in the region.
