Sixteen Immigration Officers completed the Barbados Immigration Department Institutional Strengthening Clinic.
The five month training programme was the brainchild of Chief Immigration Officer Margaret Inniss, aimed at recapturing institutional knowledge lost due to the retirement of veteran staff.
Minister of Home Affairs and Information Wilfred Abrahams hailed the Department for investing in staff already there, rather than looking outside to fill management roles.
He emphasised the importance of the Immigration Department holding themselves accountable to service excellence.
