A Government Minister wants sensible steps taken to intervene in the marketplace in the interest of Barbadian consumers as he called out inefficiencies and inaccuracies regarding standards of measurement.
Senior Minister and Minister of Energy and Business, Kerrie Symmonds highlighted issues where consumers may be purchasing an item that suggests one net-weight but are actually getting less.
He shared the examples as he led off Debate on the Barbados Metrology Bill 2022.
Minister Symmonds says there’s need for a holistic discussion on the ways consumers are being affected.
