Increase in substance abuse during pandemic

There has been an increase in substance abuse among addicts and individuals who generally refrain from using intoxicating substances, since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Word of this from Nicollette Williams, a Therapist and Counsellor at the Substance Abuse Foundation Inc.

She says some individuals have been seeking treatment at Verdun House and Marina House.

Ms. Williams was a guest on CBC TV8’s Face It and Fix It.

Meanwhile, Renee Napoleon, Programme Manager at the Substance Abuse Foundation Inc. revealed intervention services are provided for those unwilling to accept help from family members.
