Barbados is requesting that the World Health Organisation recommence its country’s infection prevention and control or IPC assessment programmes.
The call was made by the island’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. the Most Honourable Kenneth George as he contributed to the debate on the Draft Global Strategy on Infection Prevention and Control at the ongoing 76th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland.
He told the forum it is recognised that infection prevention and control is a critical pillar in preventing harm to patients, health care workers and visitors.
