Barbadians are being told there’s not much risk of contracting monkeypox from the African green monkey found in abundance on the island.
Director of the Centre for Biosecurity Studies Dr. Kirk Douglas made the point in response to a question on CBC TV8’s Face It and Fix It.
He adds green monkeys are used in vaccine studies due to the fact they are considered ‘clean’.
