Health officials are reporting a low turnout for children receiving the Pfizer COVID-19 paediatric vaccines.
The Ministry of Health began administering the vaccines to children ages 5 to 11 last week Thursday, after receiving a donation of over 14,000 doses.
However, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. the Most Honourable Kenneth George, says the large numbers expected have not materialised.
He says while children do not need to be vaccinated to return to school, the Ministry will be looking at different ways to introduce the vaccine.
