The Barbados Police Service has launched an unnatural death investigation after a fatal shooting incident on Monday night.
Police say that their “Operations Control Room received a report via telephone call that there was a shooting incident at a shop located at Luke’s Avenue, Bayville, St. Michael,” around 8:58 pm on Monday, March 13, 2023. That incident resulted in the death of 35-year-old Shane Harvey, of Palm View Avenue, Bayville, St. Michael.
The Service provided more details in a statement”
“On initial response, no one interviewed could confirm shots being heard or knowledge of a shooting. However, further information was received that a 35-year-old male had been presented with a gunshot injury to the Emergency Department of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
That man later died whilst receiving medical treatment.”
Investigations are ongoing.
