More Barbadians falling prey to identity theft

A tech expert is raising concern about the publishing of the voter’s list for the January 19 General Election.

According to Steve Fung, this method overexposed Barbadians who were eligible to vote at that time to potential cyber security threats.

He gave his take on the situation on CBC TV 8’s Morning Report.

The tech expert is also reporting that more individuals here in Barbados have been victims of identity theft, where hackers have been able to steal credit card information and even take out a loan under someone’s name.
