More Barbadians have been taking advantage of the opportunity to pursue university education since the current Barbados Labour Party administration announced it will reinstate the payment of tuition fees for students.
Minister in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs Ryan Straughn says enrolment at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus continues to rise.
While noting the uptake is pleasing, he says there is still a gap between current numbers and the pre 2014-2015 figures of 8000 plus students.
He provided an update on the floor of the Lower House.
