More data on gender-based violence needed

The absence of data to determine the prevalence of gender based violence remains a hurdle in Barbados.

Representative of the UN Women Multi-Country Office – Caribbean, Tonni Brodber has called attention to the matter days into the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence.

The annual international campaign got underway on November 25th – the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and runs until December 10th, which is observed as Human Rights Day.
