Plans are in the works to establish themed national gardens across Barbados.
This announcement from Minister of the Environment and National Beautification, Adrian Forde.
He says the trees planted islandwide will represent Barbados as a country.
His comments come as the Ministry accelerates efforts to create a green carbon sink in Barbados with the Planting a Million Trees initiative.
Minister Forde made the revelation at the National Botanical Gardens, where a tree was planted in honour of the St. Andrew Parish Committee in Canada for winning the “Best Parish Booth Competition”.
