Health Minister, Senator The Most Honourable Dr. Jerome Walcott, is outlining a new plan of action to improve the response to cardiac care at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).
In an exclusive with CBC News, he gave details about the development of a new Chest Pain Unit in the Accident and Emergency Department.
Dr. Walcott says patients with emergency heart problems will be urgently treated and stabilised at the Unit, before receiving further medical attention at the Hospital.
The Health Minister has also revealed plans to get more operating theatres at QEH back into service.
