New homes for residents of Murphy’s Pasture

November 9, 2022

Flooding at Murphy’s Pasture in Bridgetown has prompted Government to move to compulsorily acquire lands at Kensington New Road and Beckles Hill, New Orleans, also in the city, to build new homes for residents affected by the flooding.

On Tuesday, in moving the resolution in the House of Assembly for Government to do so, Minister of Housing, Lands and Maintenance, Dwight Sutherland said, Government must protect the health of residents and prevent social decay.

The Ministry of Housing will be constructing 12 three-bedroom units in one area and housing eight people in the other.
