Alex Sobers set a new national record when he competed in the second heat of the men’s 200 Metres Freestyle, at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games this morning.
While Sobers placed sixth in the heat, which means he would not go on to the next round, he was able to beat his previous national record with a time of 1:48.09.
Danielle Titus also took to the pool this morning. She finished sixth in the second heat of the Women’s 100m Backstroke in a time of 1:04.53, and did not qualify for the next round.
