Barbados hosted more than 2, 000 cruise ship passengers on Tuesday.
They came on board Rhapsody of the Seas and tested a new operational plan, dedicated to improving the passengers’ transit in the Bridgetown Port.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Barbados Port Inc. Mr. David Jean-Marie said while some able-bodied passengers opted to walk via the demarcated route to the shops and exit, others chose to use the shuttles deployed to move guests and luggage between the homeport terminal and the pick up and drop areas.
Two shuttles were also dedicated to travel between shed three and the Bridgetown Cruise Terminal for passengers desirous of making duty-free purchases before exiting.
The CEO said a review of the new plan will be done and modifications or improvements made before the ship’s return to Barbados on January 8.
