The Ocean Acres Animal Sanctuary is facing an increasing number of animals at its St. John location.
To help offset its feeding costs, it hosted a fundraiser and donation drive outside Massy Supermarket at the Villages at Coverley.
Barbadians and students from the Ross University School of Medicine responded, donating a range of items including dog and cat food, as well as purchasing items on offer.
Founder and Director of Ocean Acres Karen Whittaker says currently there are 400 animals on site.
She is encouraging people to spay and neuter their pets.
