Over eleven million dollars worth of illegal drugs were set ablaze this morning as the local constabulary continues its fight to rid the island of the scourge.
The Communications and Public Affairs Officer of the Barbados Police Service Inspector Rodney Inniss says the drugs came into police custody through operations or matters adjudicated in the courts.
He was joined by Senior Superintendent David Welch who is in charge of the destruction of the drugs.
Suitcases, boxes, and all types of packaging methods used to conceal the drugs were unpacked and incinerated.
Inspector Inniss gave a breakdown of the quantities and street value.
