Melena Simmons, an emotional intelligence facilitator with Parent Education for Development in Barbados (PAREDOS), is encouraging parents to use the downtime over the holidays to play with their children.
Ms. Simmons made the call as she addressed parents and children treated to lunch by the Love at Christmas Foundation.
She explained that children’s behaviour during game time can be turned into teachable moments.
