Some of the highest ranking security officials are meeting in Barbados to discuss some of the most pressing issues facing the region and its United States partners.
This as the Caribbean Nations Security Conference or CANSEC 2022 opened at the Barbados Hilton this morning.
Speaking during the opening session, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley said she is concerned that Barbados and the region will now really begin to see some of the consequences of the ongoing conflict in the Ukraine, as it continues into a fifth week.
She says its one of the many challenges, like COVID-19, climate change and transnational crime, with which the region has to grapple.
