Police identify woman who died in fire

A woman died in a fire at Hillview Marley Vale St. Philip, which destroyed two houses.

The Barbados Police Service said that the house fire was reported to the District C Police Station on Saturday, April 22, 2023.

Police immediately responded and on arrival, met with personnel from the Barbados Fire Service. The fire, which destroyed two residences, situated next to each other, was extinguished around 10:45 p.m. Firemen reported the discovery of charred remains of a human body located in the bathroom section of the house.

The body was later identified as 67-year-old Carol Alleyne of the stated address.

The second house, which was destroyed, is owned by Michael Hunte of that address.

Both houses were uninsured and police investigations are ongoing.
