Posthumous tributes paid to some outstanding Barbadians

January 17, 2023

The House of Assembly resumed today with Parliament paying posthumous tributes to a number of Barbadians who have given stellar service to the country.

Those recognized were the late Democratic Labour Party politicians, Sir Maurice King, Sir Warwick Franklin and Clifton Neblett along with former Barbados Labour Party parliamentarian Leroy Sisnett.

Leader of Government Business and Deputy Prime Minister, Santia Bradshaw, in leading off the obituary speeches, read out the contributions of the four, highlighting the strides made in various spheres.

Family and representatives were present in the Lower House and online for the occasion.

Ms. Bradshaw says COVID-19 and other challenges impacted the ability to pay tribute earlier to the deceased.
