As the island prepares for more intense weather, there are concerns about the readiness of the island’s power grid.
It was severely tested during the passage of Hurricane Elsa last year, with many communities left in the dark for up to a week.
However the Barbados Light and Power Company is confident the network is in a better state of readiness this time around.
Their team gave CBC News the opportunity to see first hand some of the work being done to make the grid more hurricane resilient.
