The Ministry of Sports is moving to strengthen its push to develop road tennis in schools across the island.
According to Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Charles Griffith, the first step is to upgrade or set up courts at these institutions.
He was speaking at the awards ceremony for the recently concluded Zeemoney Independence Youth Development Road Tennis Competition, held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Sky-Mall.
Compliance manager for Zeemoney, Gabrielle Ampaabeng, says the tournament was a success.
Some of the winners were on hand, including the overall champion Shakeem Nurse, who dominated the boys 16 to 21 age group.
They were presented with prizes by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and Community Empowerment Yolande Howard and Minister Griffith.
