QEH confirms staff member’s death

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital has confirmed the death of one of its staff members this morning.

According to a statement from the hospital, Ruben Wiggins, an orderly attached to the Operating Theatre, died suddenly while carrying out his duties.

The QEH says efforts were made by the medical team to resuscitate Mr. Wiggins, but they were unsuccessful.

The Hospital says it will carry out the necessary investigations into Mr. Wiggins’ death and has expressed sympathy to his family, friends and colleagues.

Reports indicate Mr. Wiggins’ body was found by his colleagues.
