Regional connectivity boost

The Barbados Tourism Marketing Incorporated is buoyed by the new non-stop service by InterCaribbean Airways linking Barbados and St. Kitts and Nevis.

Chief Executive Officer, Jens Thraenhart, in applauding the Turks and Caicos Islands-based carrier, says such flights are key to addressing regional connectivity.

Dr Thraenhart was speaking during a cocktail reception at the Hilton Hotel which saw tourism officials from Barbados and St. Kitts and Nevis coming together to celebrate the expansion of the inter-island service of InterCaribbean.

Officials from the St. Kitts Tourism Authority were also on the island promoting its new campaign “Summer of Fun”.

topping the calendar of events and activities is the popular St. Kitts Music Festival.

Minister of tourism in St. Kitts and Nevis, Marsha Henderson says given the importance of the tourism sector to her country, re-establishing strong regional connectivity is paramount.
