The Ross University School of Medicine is on board with local efforts to educate the public and increase awareness of hypertension.
Come May 17th, World Hypertension Day, Ross students will be active in Barbadian communities conducting blood pressure checks and disseminating information on the non-communicable disease.
Instructor of Anatomy in the Department of Medical Foundations at Ross, Dr. José Gomez says since the setting up of the University on island, officials noticed an increase in the number of patients with hypertension.
Borrowing from the theme for World Hypertension Day 2022 – ‘Know Your Numbers’ – he told CBC TV8s Mornin’ Barbados this is critical.
