At least seven people injured in accident

Police are on the scene of an accident involving two route taxis (ZRs), which has left several people injured.

Police say the incident occurred around 9:30 this morning along Wanstead Road, at its junction with 8th Avenue Wanstead Gardens, St James.

Seven people are reported to have been injured. Two of them have suffered head injuries and have been taken to the QEH by ambulance. The others are being treated at the scene.

CBC News also understands that a female passenger was ejected from one of the vehicles during this accident.

Investigations are ongoing.
