The Barbados Road Safety Association is tonight advocating a special course to help motorists better deal with emergency sirens.
Commenting on the accident which occurred on Friday at Tweedside Road, the Association’s interim president Roland Lowe said the firemen need to be applauded for being able to manage the situation so that it was no worse.
While wishing the injured a speedy recovery, he says people react differently to emergency vehicles.
Mr. Lowe says it all goes back to three elements, education, training and a change of mindset for all road users.
He made a suggestion on how it could work.
