Widespread brush fires in recent days have caused a spike in asthma patients visiting at least one medical facility.
It is the Sandy Crest Medical Centre.
Confirmation of this from physician specialist at the Centre, Dr. Brian Charles.
He told CBC News it has been so bad, some patients had to be nebulised.
Dr. Charles advises that even people who don’t have respiratory conditions, should stay away from the smoke.
Over the past week, the brush fires have caused the closure of several schools and other institutions.
