Government is moving to extend the State of Emergency in Barbados until September 22nd this year.
This as a Resolution on the Emergency Management Act was debated and passed in the Lower House this morning.
Leading off the Debate, Health Minister Ian Gooding-Edghill said the move is necessary due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and the evolving variants.
While praising all involved in the fight, the Health Minister again appealed to Barbadians to follow the necessary hygiene measures and mask wearing along with getting vaccinated or the booster shots.
