A senior official with the Caribbean Development Bank has lauded the progress made by the Government of Barbados in getting the island back onto a path of economic growth, following the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The CDB’s Director of Economics Ian Durant made the comment in an interview with CBC News, on the sidelines of the CDB’s annual news conference.
He says borrowing represents an important part of the island’s economic growth.
Mr. Durant says what he has seen on the ground so far with the use of borrowed resources by Government has been positive, and he identified some specific major investments.
