Major traffic delays are expected as the Barbados Police Service is currently around the scene at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (LESC) at Two Mile Hill, St. Michael, where there is a suspicious package.
Police said in a release, that their Operations Control Room received a call from personnel of the Barbados Fire service informing that there was a reported suspicious package located in a bathroom of the building and police response was needed.
That response was immediate and a command centre has been set up in the vicinity of the Imart building, some distance away. Police have diverted all vehicular and pedestrian traffic from the JTC Ramsay (Bussa) roundabout and the Howell Road junction with Two Mile Hill Road.
Police added that “this diversion will cause considerable disruption to traffic, and we are asking motorists and road users alike to be compliant, and avoid the area if you can also to comply with the directions of the Police on the ground.”
