The number of house fires so far for 2023 has already surpassed those for the last 5 years for the corresponding period.
Acting Leading Fire Officer and Research Officer Natasha Forde revealed for the period thus far, there were 31 house fires compared to 21 in 2022.
For the last year in total, there were 66 house fires.
Ms. Forde reminded householders in many cases these scenarios can be avoided.
