Days after top law enforcement officials in Barbados started probing the police detention and repatriation of a Trinidadian national, Trinidad’s Prime Minister has also called for a report on the incident.

Just yesterday we told you that a high level meeting was being held by the Barbados Police Service, regarding the detention of Trinidadian firearms dealer Brent Thomas in Barbados and him being turned over to Trinidad police.

That meeting followed a request from Attorney General Dale Marshall for a report on the circumstances which led to the action being taken.

CBC can tell you that the meeting started in the afternoon and went well into the night, but up to news time today, there has been no update regarding its outcome.

However, over in Trinidad, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has demanded a report from his country’s Commissioner of Police on the situation.

The actions of the Barbados Police in this situation have come under the microscope after a High Court Judge in Trinidad labelled Thomas’ detention here by local officers as an abduction.
