Two charged for stealing over $6,000 worth of sweet potato

Two men are facing charges for the theft of sweet potatoes belonging to Applewaite’s Plantation in Applwaites, St George.

Police in the Southern Division have jointly charged 32-year-old, Rico Omar Drayton of Turton’s Gap, Government Hill, St Michael and 26-year-old Trevon Orlando Farley of Seales Land Government Hill, St Michael for five counts of Theft of Sweet Potatoes.

The offences occurred between January 29th and March 1st 2022. Total value of the produce stolen is $6320.00 Bds. None of the produce was recovered.

They are expected to appear in the District B Magistrates court tomorrow, Wednesday 9th March 2022 to hear the charges.
