As Barbados steps up its tsunami preparations, it is poised to have two more zones that will be designated and certified as Tsunami Ready by yearend.
The announcement came earlier today during the launch of the Tsunami Ready Recognition Programme for Barbados at the Department of Emergency Management.
Home Affairs Minister, Wilfred Abrahams says this is in line with the progress being made in the disaster management field such as hazard detections and improving early warning systems.
It also follows on the heels of a similar designation granted in 2020 from the areas stretching from Shermans, St. Lucy to Mullins, St. Peter.
