There’s positive news about the unemployment situation in Barbados today.
It is trending downwards and is expected to continue to decline.
The revelation from Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley.
Speaking in Parliament today she said the downward trend is a result of Government’s capital works projects.
She however noted, that though the 17 percent is down from the 2020 unemployment rate of 25 percent there is still room for improvement.
Ms. Mottley adds the creation of employment opportunities will be facilitated through additional capital works programmes facilitated by both the private sector and Government.
