On Wednesday morning police launched an investigation into an unnatural death after fire completely destroyed a residence on the west coast.
According to Communications and Public Affairs Officer of the Barbados Police Service, acting Inspector Rodney Inniss, lawmen are at a scene located along Westmoreland, St. James at the premises of a house with a shop attached.
“Police received a report of a house on fire at our Operations Control Room about 2:06 a.m. on Wednesday 21, December 2022.
“Having responded we were informed by Fire Service personnel that there was a body inside the building,” he said in a statement released at 5:45 a.m.
Three fire tenders responded and have extinguished the fire. The premises were destroyed, but no other nearby property was damaged.
Investigations are on going. (SNR/PR)
