A 26-year-old man has died following a crash along Superlative Road, St George today, Wednesday 25 May 2022.
District B Station personnel are currently at the scene of the road traffic collision, which occurred around 8:15 am and involved a Toyota Carolla motor car driven by a 26-year-old male, and an articulated lorry driven by a 46-year-old male.
Another male passenger was seated in the front passenger seat.
Public Relations Officer with the Barbados Police Service, Rodney Inniss, provided the following information on that incident:
Both vehicles were travelling along the said road in opposing directions when they collided head-on. The motor car was extensively damaged and both the driver and passenger had to be extricated by use of the fire department personnel’s jaws of life.
Both persons were transported to the QEH by ambulance.
Investigations are ongoing.
Police confirmed that the driver of the motor car passed away while receiving treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The other injured person is receiving treatment but is considered in serious condition.
This represents the sixth road fatality from five collisions for the year 2022
