Police are at the scene of a fire at the Colonnade Mall, situated along Broad Street at its junction with Prince William Street, Bridgetown, St Michael.
Three fire tenders and 14 personnel headed by the Acting Chief Fire Officer Patrick, responded and extinguished a fire in an area where it initial started. However, the volume of smoke in the building and surrounding buildings have to be investigated and extracted.
Police have implemented traffic management measures including the diversion of both vehicular and pedestrian traffic travelling along Prince William Henry Street and upper Broad Street.
There are no reported injuries and damage has been described as minor.
The fire service is still on the ground and have verified that the flames have been extinguished.
