UPDATE: Two injured during robbery

The Royal Barbados Police Force has provided an update on a shooting incident which CBC News broke yesterday.

Police from the Hastings-Worthing station responded to a report of a shooting, which occurred about 7:16 pm yesterday, at Bayville Minimart, Bayville, St. Michael.
 
The initial report stated that a robbery had just taken place at the Bayville supermarket.
 
On arrival police learnt that a man entered the establishment with a firearm, proceeded to the cashier, and demanded that she place the money into a plastic bag which he handed over to her.
 
He later went into the aisle of the said minimart, and instructed a customer to place some liquor in the same plastic bag, a shot was fired during this exchange which injured the customer in his left knee; a female employee was also injured in her left foot.
 
The assailant then ran away from the scene.

The  injured male customer was transported by police to the Winston Scott Polyclinic for treatment, while the female employee was taken to the QEH by ambulance for medical treatment.
 
Investigations into this incident are ongoing.
