The US Department of State has issued a Travel Advisory Level 3 for Barbados, recommending that citizens reconsider travelling to the island due to COVID-19.
The update was posted to the U.S. Embassy in Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean, and the OECS website today, August 4th, 2021. It notes that the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 3 Travel Health Notice for Barbados due to COVID-19, indicating a high level of COVID-19 in the country.
The update also advises citizens that their risk of contracting COVID-19 and developing severe symptoms may be reduced if they are fully vaccinated with an FDA authorized vaccine and encourages them to review the CDC’s specific recommendations for vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers, before planning any international travel.
