Given the proposed development plans for Barbados, Independent Senator, Christopher Maynard has called attention to the increased demand such new structures will have on potable water.
Senator Maynard maintains water is an asset that has strategic importance and governments past and present recognise this.
He notes while large sums of money have been spent to protect the supply of potable water, the debt incurred still has to be repaid.
