Workers’ safety boosted

Barbados’ major piece of legislation governing the safety, health and welfare of people in the workplace has been bolstered.

There are now two new regulations and an order related to the Safety and Health at Work (SHAW) Act.

They are the Safety and Health at Work (Refusal of Dangerous Tasks) Regulations, 2023; Safety and Health at Work (Forms) Regulations, 2023; and the Safety and Health at Work (accident report) (fees) order.

Minister of Labour, Social Security and the Third Sector, Colin Jordan, will be live on tonight’s edition of CBC TV 8’s NewsNight from 7:00 p.m., to give more insight into these additions.
