A young local skateboarder, who is the owner and manager of Johno’s Skate Shop, is giving back to the Barbadian community by assisting children in need of medical assistance and further developing the sport of skateboarding.
Nineteen year old Johnathan Austin is doing so through Johno Cares 2 where he has already committed to donating 5% of sales from his online store.
The passion is there for the young man who managed to overcome gastroparesis – a condition in which the stomach cannot empty itself of food in a normal way.
He says he is proud to give back after his experience of being ill for seven years.
Three young people have benefited from assistance from Johno Cares 2.
Meanwhile, beaming father Stephen Austin is standing by his son.
He is comforted that he did not give up during his medical ordeals.
