Students from the Barbados Youth Advance Corps and other youth organisations participated in a Get Hired Employability Workshop on Friday.
It was sponsored by the Division of Youth Affairs and Prince’s Trust International.
The Barbados Police Service was the employer on display with the various divisions allowing for interaction.
Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Tony Wiltshire gave some background on the partnership.
Various segments of the Police Service including Tactical Response, the Canine Unit, the Traffic Division, Telecommunications, the Band, Forensic, Mounted, Digital Evidence and Cyber Crime were on display and a number of the officers within the units did presentations on aspects of their jobs.
Constable 1711 Kyle Hinds of Forensic Scenes of Crime explained to the attendees how the division assists in crime solving.
