Last week, UN Secretary-General António Guterres announced the seven young climate leaders who will form his next Youth Advisory Group on Climate Change, and a Caribbean Youth Advocate is among them.
He is 25 year old Jevanic Henry from St. Lucia, a climate and development professional and an Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) Fellow, assigned to the Permanent Mission of St. Lucia to the United Nations in New York.
Mr. Henry spoke to CBC News following the major announcement, about what he hopes to contribute and the importance of Caribbean representation at this level.
He says Caribbean voices must be heard in these spaces, as climate change is a personal experience for those living on the frontlines.
