CARICOM forum ends with major decisions on Haiti, climate change

Caribbean leaders meeting in the Bahamas concluded the 44th Regular Meeting of Heads of Government with major decisions on Haiti and tackling climate change.

Insight was provided into the discussions during a press conference last evening.

Recently Canada pledged to send naval vessels to Haiti, but stopped short of military intervention.

CARICOM Chairman and Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Philip Davis says the path towards bring peace and stability to Haiti at the moment does not include boots on the ground.

The rising cost of living was another topic for CARICOM leaders.

Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley says the region has seen fluctuating fuel prices, noting there’s a risk of it rising again.
