March 31st, 2022

Guyana has been confirmed as host of the Hero Caribbean Premier League semi-finals and finals for the next three years.

The three-year agreement starts this year, and will run until 2024.

President Dr. Irfaan Ali made the announcement during the official launch of the Cricket Carnival and Caribbean Premier League 2022 last night at the National Stadium, in Providence.

This is the first time the CPL final will be held in Guyana, while the last time the country hosted CPL games was in 2019.

The window for Hero CPL 2022 is August 30th to September 30th.

President Ali said the Cricket Carnival is a fusion of cricket and culture under a ‘One Guyana’ banner.

The Head of State promised an electric atmosphere at the games and a plethora of activities that will showcase Guyana’s entertainment prowess, its culture, food and local talents.

The two-week Cricket Carnival will form part of activities surrounding Guyana’s hosting of 11 games during the upcoming tournament.
